The Hill of Spring is a high schooler’s take on Israel, antisemitism, and the Jewish future. The image or “logo” shows the founding of Tel Aviv, Hebrew for Hill of Spring, in 1909. In it, the 66 founding families of Tel Aviv are making a choice—to use their agency to build Jewish flourishing as their answer to antisemitism, rather than being defined by it. That spirit is what the Jewish people need most right now. We have more to be optimistic about than almost any generation before us, more to build on, and more reason to refuse to let hatred define a moment that belongs to us. The Hill of Spring exists to make that case.
