This is a fascinating essay containing so much valuable and informative, although disturbing, information. In part 2, your thoughts regarding what ordinary American Jews, of different ages and generations, can do to effectively combat this growing antisemitism would be welcomed.
As a conservative and Christian life-long Republican - as well as the father of Jewish children and, hence, grandchildren, let me express my horror at this movement; although not unaware of it, but unaware of its size and monstrous influence - but allow me to express a word of caution and regret. For years and far too many years, Jews have been the face of both the Democrat Party as well as its most radical factions. The very Democrat Party that has opened our borders, freed criminals and fought for policies that weakened our nation. Some of the worst examples in politics have been Schumer, Nadler, Schiff, Raskin, Slotkin, Sanders et al. People are not blind to this malign influence and it is a self-inflicted wound. I will do everything in my power to combat this disgusting new wave of anti-Jewish lunacy. The Nazis were psychopathic perverts who destroyed a nation. It can happen easily and it must be stopped now - in it infancy before it's too late. But my Jewish friends must be allies in this fight against evil. And it must start with an end to the embrace of leftist lunacy and the embrace of the demonic Democrat Party. Please, I beg you, do NOT make my job any harder than it is.
I read your comment with interest and mostly agreement until you used the word demonic. That is far too serious of a word, and should not be used lightly. If you indeed believe that all Democrats are inspired/controlled by demons, then you should make an appointment with a Catholic Priest to discuss this in more depth. I do not mean this disrespectfully in any way and I am speaking as a lifelong Catholic and Democrat.
Well the policies of the DNC surely appear to have been ginned up by Old Scratch, himself. Destroying the USA, stopping worship during Covid but keeping open liquor stores, mass fetus murders, supporting the death cult of Islam, teaching perversion to children. I could go on. So even if all of the followers of this party of perverts and philistines are not actually demonically possessed, they sure vote for it.
I am disgusted and very sad about what is happening in the country and the world right now with anti-semitism. People like Nick Fuentes, Tucker Carlson, and Candace Owens constantly perpetuate hate with their evil and false statements. How did this problem even arrive at this point ? I believe that a part of the problem is the lies that Israel is killing all those Palestinians, which is a lie, and the other lie is that Israel is starving the Palestinians, which is another bald-faced lie. Between the lies that Hamas tells and the bias of the Media, the Jews don't have a chance !
So being a Jewish mother what an I supposed to do with this knowledge? Moving to Israel isn't feasible for me. How do I protect my children when these people take power and come after us? I'm terrified. I feel beseiged and I don't know what to do.
You have shed much new information on this disturbing topic. The twists and turns to the concept of ‘antisemitism’ ‘anti Zionism’ and anti israel has taken on a completely new perspective for me. With the new generation of Jew hatred and new ways of justifying and claiming Israel as the new villain, hope for some resolution in the Middle East or some respite looks bleak. Using the Iran war as another reason to condemn, more coal is being thrown into the fire’ igniting the flames of hatred. In Israel, we are shielded to much of this. Thank you for this enlightening article. Looking forward to reading the follow up.
It is difficult for me to understand this inversion of reality. Yet it’s important to do so.
Fuentes seeks to remake conservatives into exactly the fascists that leftists scream we are.
He also seems to ignore the actual threat of islam (if you want to see a truly poisonous and supremacist belief system, check out that one). Or, worse, he may tacitly approve. Some of his fans seem to approve of how islam “handles” its women. Some seem to see it as an allied force.
Thank you for an important piece about something I had been sensing and informally investigating for a couple of years.
DEI, toxic “feminism” and “reverse racism” (as it used to quaintly be called) created this opening. Fuentes has walked right through it—whether as a solo force or an op designed to fracture the Conservative base and destroy MAGA.
We lost an incalculable thing when we lost Charlie. Look at who has picked up the mic.
I am a conservative non-Jewish woman who is nonetheless a fan of the Tribe (based on their resilience, humor, wit, service to humanity, and as the cradle that Christianity sprang from).
Be well, and thank you for your thoughts. You are an exceptional young man.
In both this piece and the Free press piece, you failed to explain how a generation became anti-semitic. And you are literally only focusing on one side of the political aisle.
I can't use terms like fascinating because they are positive. Reality is distressing in the extreme and requires solutions that remain beyond our two Parties, which makes the information toxic at the very least.
A harrowing read regarding increasing antisemitism in the United States amongst young people. It's disturbing how people will take legitimate grievances (questionable support for Israel despite its war-crimes, environmental damage from AI data centers, and worsening consumer safety standards) and will blame these issues on a vulnerable group of people instead of coming up with policy to fix said issues.
I have two major disagreements with the article. My first disagreement is that I don't think criticizing Netanyahu is anti-semitic because human rights organizations (including Amnesty International) have reasonably concluded that the IDF is committing a genocide in Gaza; Calling criticisms of Netanyahu or his allies anti-semitic is crying wolf and makes it more difficult to call out legitimate instances of anti-Jewish hatred. My second disagreement is that I would not call Nick Fuentes a "smart person." Fuentes is what an idiot thinks a smart person is. Fuentes politics aren't build on reason or morality, but they're built on racial chauvinism and a misplaced belief in the "good ole days" (SPOILER ALERT: the "good ole days" have always been a myth by conservatives to restrict people's personal freedoms).
The ICJ did NOT find genocide in Gaza “plausible.”
The accusation of genocide is a blood libel. Not a criticism.
Criticism only applies when you can state your objections to something that has actually happened or actions that a person has actually taken. Claiming natanyahu controls Trump is not a criticism, it is slander. A lie. And these lies are being used to fuel an environment that is as likely as not to get my children killed in the next few years
"Genocide?" Genocide is an international crime defined as specific acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. If Israel is engaged in genocide in Gaza, how did the number of Gazans double? Please stop using terms recklessly. There may be policies to criticize but there is no genocide. It is a slur intentionally used against people who were actually subject to genocide and has no purpose other than to inflame and has no place in the dialogue.
I agree that genocide and genocide-enabling are not light accusations (the DSA’s recent claims that the USA is currently committing a genocide in Cuba are ridiculous and clearly appeasement of an authoritarian regime), but I think there’s enough evidence to support the accusations against Israel. I agree that much of the dialogue around Israel/Palestine is unhealthily inflamed, but denying or minimizing Israel’s crimes against humanity contributes to said inflaming. I disavow attempts to generalize all Israelis as evil, but I also fully endorse holding war-criminals (i.e., Benjamin Netanyahu, Ben-Gvir, and IDF Soldiers who’ve filmed themselves violating international law) accountable for their reprehensible actions.
Neither Amnesty International nor the UN are credible sources - of anything. If individual Israeli soldiers are committing crimes, they should be charged. But individual acts of violence are not a genocide. No more than Calley's crimes constituted an American genocide against the Vietnamese people.
I disagree, but can at least understand why you distrust Amnesty because they’re ultimately a private charity; However, I fail to see how an UN independent commission is uncredible.

Extremely insightful article, thank you , keep up the good work!
Wow—looking forward to part 2!!

I hope part two has something hopeful to latch on to because this is filling me with a sense of dread I can't verbalize
On spot. I’ve said it all along. The hate is from all sides. That’s why Vance is saying what he’s saying

I’m disgusted with the useful idiots of the right.
I am also terrified of the literal terrorists on the left.

On BBC HARDtalk,
the ICJ President corrected the record.
THE TRUTH:
The ICJ did NOT find genocide in Gaza “plausible.”
The accusation of genocide is a blood libel. Not a criticism.

There have been reputable groups (i.e., Amnesty International and United Nations) that have concluded that, yes, Israel is committing a genocide in Gaza. https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2024/12/amnesty-international-concludes-israel-is-committing-genocide-against-palestinians-in-gaza/https://news.un.org/en/story/2026/06/1167790
